Accountants take over the Criminal Justice System.

The drive for cost cutting in the criminal law field has resulted in the removal of significant protections for people facing prosecution for serious crime. In the US they have retained grand jury investigations before people are indicted for crimes. Here we used to have the equivalent in the form of preliminary hearings for indictable crime. All of this has been swept away at the behest of bozo accountants at Treasury. There is an old saying that justice delayed is justice denied. This can be true but equally indecent haste can have the same effect as short cuts remove protections. The worst aspect is that procedural safeguards are being removed at a time when governments are waging all out war on any lawyers who are independent.
