What a dum dum. Its so obvious now how the government manufactured a crisis in the legal aid system in order to push through an agenda which would not be subject to scrutiny. The agenda being to corporatize all aspects of the criminal justice system and thereby capture dissent. It follows the classic pattern set out in The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein. The only thing is that the defence of citizens has been corporatized within government itself. Everybody fell for it. The demonization of the criminal bar was a form of violence which made the removal of fundemental rights hard to detect.
